Threats:
Web Browsers are used as a portal to the world wide web and the source for where most computer viruses are transmitted. Attacks against Web browsers depend upon malicious content being rendered by the appropriate built-in interpreter (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) or vulnerable plug-in technology (e.g., Flash, QuickTime, Java, etc.).
Vulnerabilities lying within these rendering technologies are then exposed to any exploit techniques or malicious code developed by the attacker. It is still possible to stay safe in the virus war zone that is the internet today.
Web browser manufacturers are fighting hard to fight against malicous code being recycled around the internet corrupting hardware as it travels, but the war is ongoing..
Our Advice

Never ever willingly disclose too much personal information, EG Credit Card details : Password etc.
Try keep your wits about you and ask yourself why excatly would a website need so much information from me just to be able to browse.
Make sure to clear your web history as often as possible, you might find it convenient that your browser remembers your usernames and passwords but what about if these fell into the wrong hands.
A neat trick is to use In-Private Browseing, An Incognito Window or simply Private Browsing. Each have the same function but each browser may have a slightly differnt name. These can be accessed usually through 'Tools' at the top of your page.
